Principal's Message

July 22, 2020

Dear Families,

Thank you for your continued partnership. I hope you find time to rest and relax this summer. Last week, DOE Central issued guidance to schools on blended learning and offered a series of program models that schools will use in the fall. We want our families to be actively engaged in the planning process, and commit to providing you with timely information so that you can feel confident about your decision-making as we make plans for fall 2020.

Please join us on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 6pm –7pm for our first schoolwide reopening parent meeting. The purpose of this schoolwide reopening parent meeting is to provide us with the opportunity to share information with you, and solicit your feedback on our plans for the fall. During next week’s parent meeting we will present you with information about our school’s building capacity and programming models, and ask you to complete an online survey to identify your programming model preference. Please access the survey at :

The first step to having your voice heard is by participating in our schoolwide parent meetings, and I look forward to connecting with you there. Please feel free to contact our Parent Coordinator, Lucy LaMothe at LLamothe@schools.nyc.gov, if you have any follow-up questions or concerns.

Please note citywide information sessions are available and can be accessed on the DOE’s website. To assure the safety of everyone and to remain in compliance with all current safety guidelines, DOE Central has provided us with a choice of 5 different models for the safe reopening of our school. The first phase of our model selection process begins with our families. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meeting.

Sincerely,

Javier Muñiz
